Barclays Taps Credit Suisse For Qatari Investment Management CEO

Barclays has appointed Izzat Nuseibeh as chief executive of its investment banking and investment management arm in Qatar. In his new role Mr Nuseibeh will be responsible for coordinating all of Barclay’s investment banking and investment management activities for the Qatari market. He will report to Soha Nashaat, CEO of Barclays Wealth, Middle East and North Africa. " vast experience throughout the region and knowledge of the banking system in Qatar will play a vital role in our operations," said Ms Nashaat. Prior to joining Barclays Mr Nuseibeh was a senior executive officer at Credit Suisse, serving the bank’s Abu Dhabi and Doha offices, where his responsibilities included private banking, investment banking and asset management. Previously Mr Nuseibeh spent 10 years at Deutsche Bank based in Abu Dhabi. Barclays Wealth, part of UK bank Barclays, has a presence in London, Geneva, Monaco, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Barclays Wealth’s assets under management stood at £145 billion on 31 December 2008.
